Roach-Reid Business Systems, Inc. is the oldest distributors of office automation equipment in the United States. The company was started in 1906 by Robert Roach, and J. Herbert Reid, who were personal friends of Thomas A. Edison. They became the original and first distributor for the Edison wax cylinder dictation/transcription machine.
Today, Roach-Reid Business Systems, Inc. is a Toledo, Ohio company that specializes in the sales and support of Voice logging for 911 and financial call centers. Crescendo dictating and transcription equipment, Philips, and Olympus recording/Transcribing equipment, along with Medquist/Lanier voice products, and includes, sales and support of telephone and voice mail systems manufactured by Toshiba and Comdial/Verticle.
