We identified three major zones of activity in nurses stations:

	Curb side... This zone serves healthcare professionals on the go, whether they’re taking a moment the share information, jot notes or carry out an order. In almost any high-traffic place, curb side accommodations can allow busy doctors and nurses to pause for a couple of minutes without interruption to workflow.
	Step in... Shift change, comparing notes or a phone call – all flow more smoothly with a step in zone. It’s the most efficient way to touch base. Nurses step into the space, collaborate in semi-privacy and return to attending patients in a snap.
	Immersion... Sometimes, it’s necessary to break away from the action and focus on dictation, or a group meeting. The immersion space is for people who need to concentrate, minimizing distractions without losing touch with co-workers and activity on the floor.
