Once you have made the decision to own a system provided by DATATALK TELECOM, a detailed Implementation Program is initiated. As described below, the program is completely planned, including programming, testing, installation, training and acceptance. Our ongoing service and warranty is described in the next section. The primary purpose of the plan is the assignment of responsibilities and target dates for completion. With the plan, everyone is aware of what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and who is responsible for completing the task.
We employ the finest installation technicians and support personnel available to ensure the timely and smooth installation of your EXECUTONE, CORAL or VODAVI system.
A Certificate of Insurance covering worker's compensation and liability insurance will be provided upon request. Upon contract award, DATATALK TELECOM will process and coordinate your order for final acceptance to ensure the critical schedules are properly met.
DATATALK TELECOM has complete responsibility for the delivery, installation and maintenance of the entire system as set forth in our current Sales and Service Agreement. We will be fully responsible for furnishing a complete and operating system compatible with the Telephone Company’s network. Our installation will comply with all Federal, State, County, District, and Municipal ordinances, laws, rules, regulations, and construction and safety codes relating to or applicable to this project. All material and equipment furnished shall be equal to, or exceed the established common carrier standards.
The following outlines the primary activities involved in the implementation of your system.
Pre-Installation Planning |
- A Design Coordinator is assigned to your company.
- An initial Database Meeting is held with the Installation Supervisor, Design Coordinator, Sales Consultant and Customer Support Representative to discuss your system’s unique needs and plan the installation schedule.
- In order to meet the installation date, it is the Design Coordinator's responsibility to review programming options, database notes and drawings for the exact locations and functions of each telephone with the customer. It is imperative that this meeting takes places well in advance of the installation date. You will be asked to review the notes and sign/date when in agreement with the design of your system.
- DATATALK
will work with your local telephone operating company to order and coordinate all work to be completed; including establishing the date for the installation cutover, assisting in scheduling removal of any telephone company equipment, and ordering any special features required on your telephone lines as requested by our customer contact.
- It is the customer's responsibility to notify
DATATALK TELECOM of any circumstances or conditions that could delay or postpone the scheduled installation date, so that we can coordinate with the appropriate utilities and common carriers to assure an efficient and timely implementation.
- Training of all personnel will be scheduled during the Database Meeting.

| System Installation |
- If contracted with
DATATALK, the necessary cabling is installed.
- Equipment is delivered and all software is installed and tested.
- All station equipment is installed and tested.
- Telephone layout, programming, and labeling are completed.
- Further customer training is conducted.
- System cutover/installation with final configuration takes place.
- Customer provided cable: New cable installed other than by
DATATALK technicians or contractors cannot be covered under any warranty or maintenance agreement, unless first inspected and approved by our Operations Manager or Installation Manager. This cable should be designated/labeled at each end and "as built" drawings must be provided. If this cable is not properly labeled at each end and designated on the blue print/floor plan, additional labor costs may be incurred.
Re-use of Existing Cable: Down time for your system will be incurred by using existing cabling. If this presents a problem during regular business hours, DATATALK can schedule the installation of your new system after 5:00 p.m. or on a Saturday at an overtime rate.
Due to the sensitivity of digital electronic equipment, additional Telco and A.C. Power Surge and Suppression equipment may be recommended or required prior to the system being brought on line. Standard warranties DO NOT cover "Acts of God." Re-use of existing non-DATATALK cable will not be covered under any type of DATATALK warranties unless approved in writing by DATATALK TELECOM Technical Management prior to the system being brought on line. (On line being connected to the operating Telco and A.C. Power.)

| Post-Installation |
- Customer Support Representative works with your staff to make sure they understand the correct operation of the system and its features.
- Re-training is arranged if necessary.
- Your CSR will conduct a final review to make sure all equipment and system performance standards are operating as agreed to by both parties.

EQUIPMENT ROOM ENVIRONMENTAL AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
DATATALK'S obligation to install the Product at the Customer's Authorized Location is contingent upon provision of an Equipment Room that meets environmental and electrical requirements for the installation of telecommunications equipment, including but not limited to the following. |
- A 15 or 20 ampere - 117 volt AC isolated, dedicated circuit terminating within five feet of the System Control Cabinet; double receptacle required.
- Conduit or Teflon cable, if required by building codes.
- Normal business lighting.
- Access to adequate and tested "electrical ground" within 25 feet of the System Control Cabinet.
- It is the customer's responsibility to provide adequate space for the equipment, (i.e. a cool, clean, dry work location that is easily accessible by our technicians).
- Three-foot minimum clearance in front of the main frame equipment (secured access preferable to protect your system’s security).
- The Main Control Cabinet should be located as close as possible to the carrier’s demarcation point. An additional feeder cable is required when the cabinet is not located at the demarcation point.

SYSTEM PROGRAMMING - REPROGRAMMING AFTER INSTALLATION
During the system-programming phase, our CSR will work with you to make sure that you understand and agree to the programming parameters for your new system. You will be asked to sign off on a programming sheet, indicating to us that your system will initially be programmed as shown on that program sheet.
We will be glad to make minor programming changes after the installation is complete (most reprogramming can be done remotely), but we need to work with you to make sure that those reprogramming decisions will not adversely affect other areas of your business. To achieve that goal, we request that our customers do not ask for program changes until the system has been in service at least 5 business days. This will enable you to accumulate ALL necessary program changes, and allow us to do the reprogramming all at the same time.
However, if we need to make an immediate program change because of an unforeseen condition that is adversely affecting your business, we will make those changes immediately. Our goal is to avoid this problem in the initial programming meetings.
