Dr. Darrow may feel that additional testing is necessary in order for him to validate the cause of your pain due to certain symptoms, syndromes or histories discovered during your examination. THERE ARE NO SIDE EFFECTS.You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately after testing unless otherwise instructed by Dr. Darrow.
THERE IS MINIMAL RISK in having these studies performed. However, you should speak with Dr. Darrow about any increased risk if you have any of these medical conditions: - A pacemaker, - Metal implants in your head or near your eyes, - Cochlear implants, - Severe cardiovascular disease, - Hemophilia, - or any other serious medical condition.
YOUR COMFORT IS OUR GOAL: You will be asked to sit upright or lay down in a comfortable position. Our technicians are well trained and can help alleviate any anxiety you may be experiencing. Be sure to communicate how you are feeling throughout the testing procedures and do not hesitate to ask questions prior, during and after the study. Your comfort is a key component in obtaining accurate results.
PREPARING FOR A TEST: If you are havig an MRI, you should avoid wearing jewlwery, clothing with metal fasteners or metallic fibers. You may eat, drink and take medications as usual. If you are having a neurological or vascular test you should bathe or shower and avoid using bath oils or lotions, as they can interfere with test results. You can eat your meals at usual times, but should avoid caffeine and tobacco products for a few hours prior to testing. Wear loose fitting clothes that can easily be pulled above the knee or elbow.
Please be at least 15 minutes early for your appointment to complete paperwork.
AFTER THE TEST: Your tests will be interpretedby one of our experienced medical physicians (cartiologist, neurologist, radiologist or physiatrist). A detailed report will be forwarded to Dr, Darrow's office within 5 business days. Dr. Darrow will go over the report with you, explaining what condition(s) the test results point to and the treatment program developed to help in your recovery. |
